What is Ashwagandha?

A popular herb used in traditional Indian medicine (Ayurveda) for stress relief and to improve general health. As supported by a number of studies- ashwagandha reduces cortisol levels. Cortisol is the bodies primary stress hormone, it increases sugars (glucose) in the bloodstream, enhances your brain’s use of glucose and increases the availability of substances that repair tissues.

WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?

It is an evergreen shrub that’s found in India, Africa & parts of the Middle East

Adaptogens are herbs or mushrooms that  help our body respond to stress, anxiety & fatigue

 

PURPORTED USES:

– To reduce anxiety (strong feelings of worry)

– To reduce stress

– To minimize fatigue (feeling more tired than usual)

 

 

HOW TO TAKE ASHWAGANDHA:

There is no standard dosage based on modern clinical trials. The most common dose is 50-600 mg/day of root extract. 600 mg/day divided into two doses-one in the morning and one in the evening.
